Great post archie ....
you are a true (and occasionally nutty) conservative who sees through the Republicans attempts to take away our freedoms in the guise of fighting a "war on terror." True conservatives such as yourself realize that the state only wants to usurp liberties in the name of do-gooderism.
Bravo!

Re: Writeroflight's comment, here are 2 examples:
Ex. 1: Habeas corpus the rule of law that mandates that law enforcement must have a "body of evidence" in order to hold anyone in captivity without a burden of proof. Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib are glaring examples of the violation of habeas corpus. Some of the detainees have been held in captivity without trial or evidence for 3 years.
Ex. 2: The Fourth Amendment Which states that American citizens be free of WARRANTLESS government searches. So far, the Administration has admitted to 5,000 unwarranted wiretaps. There cannot possibly be 5,000 Al Qaeda terrorists in the US, or we'd have heard about it. Why not get a search warrant? They're rubber stamped.

Xeno-x . . . . .
Excellent question, and I am awaiting answers from my President and from my congress, both of whom are endangering my rights and my well-being.
