Barnsdale?
The only place I can think of is the Barnsdale Lodge? there are a few places around there that cater for tourists. They are a bit more switched on now.

A bunch of us stayed in a pub once in a village near to Rutland Water.
Wish I could remember the name of either the village or the pub, as you probably know it. All I can remember is that it was a big pub, long, the accommodation sleeping about ten, then a fair walk away was a second pub with a big beer garden on the edge of a footy pitch.

Rain
This is rural Rutland in the East Midlands. Plenty of water though. We should send some to kent!

No snow there slam?
Snow in Scotland...my BH is just returning from there after being caught there for a few days in a snowstorm!
