Sounds just like what I said........but, why in the hell would you call something wet....something associated with fire?

Thank you, so much.....and sorry for the tardiness in saying so.....now, where is Cumbria?  I'm afraid I am so very ignorant in my geography....and too lazy to look it up, so hope you see this.

Aw Shucks!  A burn is a stream, Krisles.  Imagine water tumbling playfully down a hillside or meandering sensually through a meadow.  That is a burn.

Nice piece of writing Krisles. I have a great affinity for lakes and one in
particular, Derwentwater in Cumbria.

I do so love trout....but, what in the hell is a burn?  You Scots!  Such odd terms for things!! Wet and it burns?!! Actually, John......I think you are more like a bubbling brook, that tickles my feet and my fancy.....always refreshing, running this way and that, charming and creative in working through way ahead.......

Beautiful!

Nicely put--people don't have to have total personality changes!  Often times, there are several sides to the same personality--as you have so eloquently put it!

I am a languid Scottish burn whose surface waters never reveal the brown trout beneath.

You are so kind, sir......and I love that....elegant! Now, that is one of my very favorite words....I love to say it, hear it and even simply think it.....I would love to live in an elegant world!  Thank you.

And....thank you so much for the compliment, and the read....didn't mean to forget that!

I don't think the turning over aspect I wrote of is a matter of gender at all....and I can imagine you easily relating to it.  I only expressed it in terms more feminine because....well.....ta da!  But, we all have an interior life, an interior nature....however we want to label it.....and some of us are more in touch with it, aware of it, able to embrace/own it.....even, depend on it in ways that we might not make peace with until we reach a certain age and recognize the contribution that side of ourselves has made to our lives....that hindsight thing that's 20/20.  I think our creativity is enhanced by turning over the other side of ourselves, exploring all the potential sides of our personalities.....opening up the doors and windows to ourselves has made it possible to see into those of others....don't ya think?

I can recognize myself in what you're writing here, except, I guess, in a male way.  I think the male version of "turning over" is what has caused me to spend my life moving from pillar to post.  So not quite the same thing, but so similar that I understand what you're saying about this facet of human complexity.  Of course, it's your talent for expressing yourself that really helps me understand it

Yes, deep.....very, very deep.....but, oh, so simple!  Thank you for reading, and for commenting.....I think you very often "get me", as they say.

Thank you! Lakes really do turn over, you know.....and I relate to it very strongly.  Yes, I also think women are very liquid....well, I think that is our nature....I think that is what is natural for us....and that not being in touch with that essence may be what causes a lot of pain for many women....a kind of dryness of the soul, if you will - wow! I got kind of deep into that analogy, didn't I!

I'm like bottled water. With lemon!
This was insightful, Ms. Krisles.  As always, interesting and elegant.

Huh? So, you are like a quiet little inlet, and you aren't all over the place.....and you don't do a lot of reading.....okay.....I stand corrected.  Hey! Have you ever had hot Dr. Pepper with lemon in it?  I used to have that when I was a kid....forgot all about that..... And, my cats and I are anxiously awaiting the pic of your kitty!

All of that and deep too.

Actually, Krisles ...

my comments merely stand out (due to the colorful quotes).  I really don't leave that many (#6) when you consider my overall rank (#2).

Nice work!
I've always thought women were liquid, moving in moon cycles like the tides as we do. I like the imagery of the water changing, perhaps warming and rising, "turning over" in a somewhat mystical way. :)pat

Madame!
You are like a 2 yr old with the why-why-why!!!!!  I meant that you get around a lot, to a lot of blogs....do a lot of reading......!!!!!! What are you.....paranoid?!!! Have I ever done anything to make you think I'm criticizing you or putting you down in some way with my comments to you? Now....for instance....do you realize that I am teasing you right now? (Emerald nuts attract a lot of nuts!)

Wait!  Now, what does this mean:

and you seem to be all over the place when I see you on here

My answer disappeared (I think, so if it shows up twice, forgive me)....  I just think falls makes more sense than a shy little inlet when it comes to you.....  I see you as energetic and passionate.....and you seem to be all over the place when I see you on here.....  That's what that means!

Thanks!  I didn't consciously start out to make it in a pattern.....I just often end up doing that (the Virgo in me)....but when I was about 3/4 through and saw it was there, then I did do it on purpose.
