justso, I took your advice on my "do-it-yourslef" blog. Also, I think a
more appropriate thinker to concern ourselves with is Kohlberg.  The Kohlberg Scale will tell you what your level of developmental thinking is at.  Answering the exact queston put forward by your title.

Writer of Light.
Yes, I think fair is a word beyond man. I believe if it is truly just it is fair. But it may not be just because it is fair. If that makes sense. We don't like things to go against what we feel is right of course, so we say that isn't fair~~~often it is! I believe fair is a word only God can make finite. Thank you for reading my work and making me think.

As I remember reading somewhere years ago . . .

Fairness and justice are entirely different things. What may be right in terms of fairness may be a travesty of justice, and vice versa. That's what makes the concept of making everything "fair" so alarming: Fair to whom?

 Great post!

I hear you. Wasn't it a nice world when people appreciated one another! You could not go take what you wanted from another and just consider it their loss. First place most people never considered such. I saw a comment on here that put it so well: People today don't know what they don't know. Soooooooo True. I am glad to see you. I have missed you. Be blessed.

Hi Justsouno! This is another good posst...you, my dear Magnolia, are on a
roll!! I developed my sense of right and wrong the old fashioned way...my parents first taught me at home. They read to me and my sister from three large volumes of stories for children: Bible stories, Aesop's fables, and a compilation of classic childrens' literature. They took us to Sunday School, and at school I knew I was responsible for learning...I was taught to ALWAYS do my very best!

I'd love to write it again but I can't remember it exactly. It was in the 70's and my wife and I were sitting at an outside table at a Paris bistro sipping wine when demonstrators came by. They were shouting and storming all around us. The gendarmes were blowing their whistles and using their truncheons. People were tumbling in the gutters but it was almost as if they didn't see us! We were on this little island, sipping wine and observing what was going on but were not really involved. It was surreal and has burned itself into my mind! Thanks for asking for a re-do. Its the best I can remember.

Burley,

You left an interesting comment on this post about you and your wife having visited Paris where you witnessed a pretty violent street demonstration from the sidewalk café where you sat sipping wine. It was an excellent comment. I replied and had an error I missed. I wanted to correct so I hit delete on my comment and it took them both out.

Could I impose on you to do that again it was incredible, so visual I could see the whole scene. I do apologize. Justy.
