- Go to George Clooney -- Not Just A Pretty Face
And a very clever comparison it was. There is little doubt in my mind that
you are the only person to compare Carter and Clooney. On the face of it, a bold move...

Well I won't say cliched (mine came first after all ;-)
However there is a fair chance that many people are having similar thoughts at similar times. I reckon I might be unique in comparing Matthew Carter and Clooney but then you never know. My pretty face headline also referred to the typeface but you knew that

Azur, you're much too quiet. I'll jump over and read your post. Is it a
strange coincidence we have similar titles to our posts, or is it just a reflection of how cliched our thinking has become?

Thank you, brettnik. Liberal is not a dirty word. Repeat after me,
conservative propaganda does not equal truth. Progressive... yeah, that's more like it.

Loved this!!
I'm so tired of liberal being a dirty word. Progressives--that's what we are--always for change and for growth. Doesn't mean perfection, just the road leading toward it, always.

Why, thank you, fourfive. I really appreciate that. It is a great
compliment, at least to me, when someone finds encouragement in just a few words to do that which they enjoy.

I'm sure that definitely played a part, Blanche. Image is everything,
especially in California. It didn't hurt to have Maria Shriver as a wife, giving him political credibility through the Kennedy family.

I saw Terminator 3 the other night
and, however hard they tried to recreate the magic with "Hasta la vista, baby" and "I'll be back", it just didn't happen and Ijust kept thinking that people voted for Ah-nold based on that myth.

Saul,
I'd definitely vote for George Clooney over Arnold Schwarzenneger.

He's definitely a good-looking guy, M.P.O. Speaking from my feminine
side, of course, which I am in touch with every now and then, but mostly while watching movies like
Spanglish and
Terms of Endearment.

I would definitely vote for him ...
Anyone who's ever actually bothered to sit down and listen to Clooney speak, understands just how thoughtful, well informed and articulate he is.
Oh and, plus he's soooo dreamy.
"On holiday."
