Hi anthony1wiley. I'm glad you got a laugh from my squirrel post!
THANKS for reading!I did not know there were so many species of squirrels and ground squirrels in Canada. I don't know about N.C... I've seen gray squirrels, red squirrels, and chipmunks....oh and we have moles...don't let me get started on them!

Dave ...THANK YOU for the valentine! I have taken your advice re: the
giraffe. I think the cost of care and feeding of a giraffe will be worth the security and protection the giraffe will provide against those pesky squirrels! Maybe I'm getting desperate!

LOL Terrific post luv, ROFLMBO. Oh and I live in frozen country and never did see a frozen squirrel. lol

In Canada, Tree Squirrels build nests and ground squirrels dig burrows and hibernate.

We have 22 species in Canada, 6 are tree and 16 are ground dwelling.

Oh yes luv, they are all bi-lingual. lol

Cynthia, hope you have a wonderful day today with sunshine in your smile. Be careful of those squirrels though.

* A giraffe is always good for knocking the frozen ones out of the trees ahead of your driving by.

Love Dave xx*Cheers!

Lens , this was the most fun, most interactive post I've done since joining
Blogit. I think I am just feeling so much better...I'm celebrating! Thanks so much for the highest of compliments...at least in my mind...that of laughing out loud at something I've written! If a writer can make me laugh out loud ...or cry...that writing becomes for me another measuring stick! I shall continue in my efforts to improve.

I loved this.  You crack me up.  A very funny post.  The image of a parachuting squirrel with X'd-out eyes made me laugh out loud, and that doesn't always happen.  Usually I just smile at stuff :-)

You know, in this era of war, global warming, WMD, famine, tsunamis, etc., it was just a matter of time till frozen squirrels had their turn.....

TAPS- Thanks for reading. I like the way my mind works too...I'm so glad it
works...period! I swear...some days I can almost  feel some of the limited number of brain cells I have left just go sliding off my brain! LOL!

Talion, I think saw a segment on ESPN on the little known sport. of frozen
squirrel flinging. I t was late ...and I just caught the tail end  of the show!

* Always watch out for this sign when travelling on any road. When squirrels have frozen their nuts off, they will undoubtedly lose balance, both bodily and mental.

This may not be a natural phenomenal at all. It could be a dreadful accident, the result of a miscalculation of a little known sport called frozen squirrel flinging. If this is the case, then it's negligence that caused the car wreck. Therefore, any other victims should join the class action lawsuit. Contact the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.

*That was funny. You made me laugh. I just came across a bit of a bunfight going on in a couple of other places, so to come here and get some serious blogging reading material warmed me up no end.

As for that sign... give me ten minutes... tee hee  *Quack!

Passionflower...A stroke of luck! I've been working on a
frozen squirrel proof personal space shield ...it looks like an ordinary umbrella. I think with a few modifications, it will be effective for protecting  against nuclear bird poop also! damn commies...

I'm LMAO here!

Thanks to your superb post, 15 near accidents concerning dead squirrels were averted today...

The FBI wants to give you some kind of furry squirrel purple heart. Good work!

Stay alert!!! I've heard that Americans may be in danger from nuclear bird poop that falls from the skies.

Muser But of course if you put the story and box out down there
they will pay well to get you up here~~~~since they don't have any squirls, ya see! When you put two good Southern heads together you might get a solution to anything.... Even things others didn't know needed solving.

Muser, I didn't expect to see frozen ones any. I was looking to fund
a visit and work on some sort of project. LOL

My how your stories intrigue me. A frozen squirrel no less. Should we be worried about this situation in Ohio? I shall keep my eye's peeled to the road just in case, or should I be looking up at the tree limbs?

hi anglofinspirtion. Thanks for reading my squirrely post! You know what..
there may be some extra pork in the ol' barrel in D.C....enough for me to get a research grant to study the percentage of  the total projected squirrel population that lands on an automobile divided by month and sex of squirrel...LOL! Thanks for reading and commenting!

Gee, Justsouno...I hope we can get the word out in time. Maybe we shoud put
our efforts out in your area! You might be shocked to hear this...there are no squirrels in Grand Cayman! We have lots of iguanas, but no squirrels.

posted by muser on February 12, 2006 at 7:25 PM | link to this | reply

I loved the story, I bet you could get a grant for research!

(I thought maybe after reading the original post that maybe the squirrel fell from a wire it might have been traversing after being shocked, but I like your story better! Glad I didn't write mine!)

Muser, of course we will. George will use a lovely white netting
with silk roses and tie backs and dedicate it to the "Magnolia's Against Frozen Incident Alerts MAFIA for short. Could be any frozen fallen animal you know. We will put a little box on the side so people can contribute. We will use this money to come visit you and sign petitions, paint signs, and all the work we will need to do against frozen squires in Sunny Island areas. I am so glad you are feeling better. You sure began things on a great foot.

Justsouno, I take it that you and George will both sign the petition then?
LOL! Thanks for reading...this is the first day I've felt like having some fun!

MUSER, this is the best alert!! George and I are about to
erect a frame under our pecan tree that drapes right over our drive way. After reading your post George was of course concerned just as you are. This is how he thought it might be done. He will put 8 or ten posts in the ground and attach netting to them and of course back to the tree leaving only enough room for the little fellows to scamper up and down the tree but can't fall out on to our car. Of course we took into consideration that we haven't had a day with temperature below 20º in more than a year. Guess it would take less than 32º for a long time. Muser I think you could set up a foundation to study this and prevent such. Seriously I loved that post!!!!!
