Pat
That is a brilliant idea, Pat.  I'll look him up today.  The more ammunition I have the better.  Thank you very much.

or... (in approaching the publisher's guy with your idea)
you could do a real job of sucking up. Look up what he's done, tell him you're impressed by a specific project or accomplishment.  As he basks in the compliment, mention that you've sent something and hope that he'll be able to work the same magic with yours.  If you can't find actual info about some specific project, some comment along the lines of "it's clear that you really put yourself out to help your authors," couldn't hurt.

Anthony
Just amazed that I'm here and happy I'm alive, Anthony. Stopped smoking 3 years ago, my friend, but still have a yearning for a ciggie now and then.

I thought when I read your latest comment, that I'd boobed and it should have been two seperate words as in snow shoe, but after checking I find that it is snowshoe.  We'll try and enjoy it, littlemspickles.  If nothing else it will be an adventure

duh, now I feel a little slow....
I've seen the tennis racquet for feet thing on telly and knew they were snow shoes - I guess I never went past the noun and thought about the verb using the snow shoes! Have fun!!!

If I can't find one, I'll make one with blood, littlemspickles - her blood.  Snowshoes?  Imagine a tennis racquet fitted to each foot (so you don't sink into the soft snow).  That is the idea but I have never tried it yet.  I've seen them in films and one of the hardware stores here actually sells them and you can rent them for the day seemingly.  I'll let you know what it's like, littlemspickles.

Blanche
I suppose the weather is one of the biggest reasons for my feeling good.  What a difference it makes not to be damp and miserable, Blanche.

ginnie
I am beginning to believe you ginnie, just like a real Canuck.  The only problem on Monday might be the lack of said snow and therefore the lack of said snowshoes. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad you're feeling on top of the world!
The shirt sounds great, hope you find one for Ell. But I also have a question - what is showshoeing?

It's sunny here today, too, JohnMcNab
Glorious change from the depressing damp, which I try to console myself are introspective and good for poetic musings, but really sometimes get to be too much.  Today, the mountains were out in full snowy relief and the sky was a cerulean blue here too.  The skating and snowshoeing sound like such fun.

ginnie
Thanks ginnie.  I love Canada's winters, ginnie.  They are glorious and beyond belief, when I've been used to depressing damp all my life.  Imagine me going snowshoeing!!!!!!!!!   I'll try and wow the publisher quietly, ginnie.

You are high today Mac!
I love it!!  What a beautiful post!!  You love the winter don't ya?  C'mon, you know you do!     A man after my own heart.  Now gotta say I've never hear the word 'blunderbuss' but I'll have to try it out tonight...the word that is!  With your attitude you'll have that editor begging for your book!!  Go for it Mac!!

When I get there, BI, I will probably find dozens and dozens of would be authors clamouring for attention and I may not even see the publisher.  In fact they may even have a bodyguard.

Dr JPT
So do I, Dr JPT.  I'll play it by ear and if nothing happens it isn't the end of the world.

Azur
I will be the epitome of nonchalance, Azur, if I can stop my knees knocking.

Me, too.

P.S. Sorry for the sucky comment.  It would have been better if I had seen this before Azur ... cause, then the roles (and quality of comment) would have been reversed.

Hello.. It is great to find you in such good spirits. I agree that you should just wait and roll with the flow, I have never planned a conversation and had it turn out to be as I exspected. Good Luck!
