Hi, as with all prescribed medicines, there is going to be a risk. This drug, ( ritalin particularly) is speed. Well, for the "normal" brain.
Every drug we as humans ingest into our systems, has the potential to cause "side effects", this does not mean however, that the dangers outweigh the benefits.
Could a diabetic live without their life saving insulin?, no, but given in incorrect dosages, it is lethal, or given to little, wont remedy the problem.
Could an epiletic live a happy functioning life without the mind altering drugs they ingest? no, but, the side effects and dangers of those drugs are mind blowing, ( excuse the pun)
I have a 12 year old ADHD child, who is on ritalin, and has been for 5 years, after much trialing of every other form of naturopathy and alternative therapies, the ritalin has changed his life, its really quite extraordinary.
I am going to submit an entry on my blog page, regards this story, keep an eye out for it.
