if the whole ebay thing has been a bust and your purchaser is difficult, have you thought about donating? i once had a friend who wanted to unload a lot of hardbacks, he had wanted money because of course they cost him. but moving books is hard and he didn't have the time or patience so he asked me to help.
i asked him, did you buy the books to make your money back or did you buy the books to read them? to read them. okay, then, let them go. give me the books. you won't have to deal with them anymore and that entire wall of your livingroom will be new.
i carried box after box out to my car and drove to a rehabilitation center where people with serious injuries try to heal. the center couldn't believe their good fortune. their shelves were filled with dated magazines but not really anything of literary value.
it felt good.
