telynor, I think once we get alternative fuels -- like the hydrogen cell --
then we can begin a dialogue on an equal footing.  The Middle East might dry up and blow away without our dependence on oil.

So, let's see, they can post hideous caricatures of Bush,
but heaven forbid that a true caricature of their leader be published.  Do they realize how ludicrous, stupid and asinine they are?

To be honest, after watching the news this week, I don't think that there's much hope of reconciliation and acceptance between the East and the West. They quite simply hate us there, and when they've a religion that happily encourages warfare against non-Muslims, not much is going to change. Not until the cycle of poverty, repression and ignorance is broken will it ever change. And I don't see that happening as long as the West remains dependent on oil. It would be lovely if it changed, but I'm too much of a cynic to think it will.
