Xeno, I recently got a bible magazine in the mail which talked about
hell, our misconceptions based on Dante and the definitions you included in your post. This magazine which is definately evangelical interprets the bible as ultimately saying hell is a place of eternal death, not eternal torture. The flames will consume the soul of the damned and that soul will cease to exist.
