the best part of the invention of the blackberry...
is that it is an alternative to the noise pollution of everyone and their brothers jabbering away simulataneously on their cell phones.  blahablahblaha....

True. I would like to own a Blackberry, but I don't need one. Work has given me a palm pilot and its still sitting in the bottom drawer of my desk waiting for me to work out how to use it...

I looked into getting a Blackberry -
I love gadgets - but decided that it was too expensive and that I didn't need it at all.

While you don't really need it now, you probably will.  There are a lot of traditional forms of communications being converged onto the Internet.  TV, traditional voice communiction, letters, etc.  When it comes to GPS navigation, try carrying the map for every county in the united states.  you either pack an extra suitcase or a blackberry-esque gadget.  it will happen, don't resist.
