No, DamonLeigh. You're not missing anything. In fact, I find your
analysis of the man pretty dead on.  I was simply musing over the vacuum left by such a dynamic and imposing figure as he is (and was).  Part of his estimable power has to do with the fear he engendered.

I May Be...
...missing something, but I've always had Sharon down as something of an evil bastard.

He certainly did his share of nastiness in the military.

He ordered the bombing of a Qu'am refugee camp in the 80s.

He oversaw the bulldozing of hundreds of Palestinian homes, and the slaughter of thousands of Palestinians - not all, contrary to the spin, 'terrorists'.

And his Gaza pull-out is a sham of the highest order, nothing more than a cleaver PR stunt to make it look as if he's offering concessions, while all the time ensuring that Palestine can never be a viable state as it's currently drawn. With the other hand, his plan extends and stengthens  Israels hold on the West Bank.

Oh, and he's also responsible for that hideously repulsive wall. We used to have the Berlin Wall and the DMZ as the only two sealed borders on the planet. Then the Berlin Wall came down, and we had just one. Now we have two again - a major backward step for mankind, IMHO.

I am also, kingmi. There will no doubt be a political moment of limbo,
while everyone covers their asses and realigns themselves depending upon the seriousness of Sharon's debilitation.  Then we'll see if Israel continues on the path set by Sharon...

Saul, I curious to know how his new government, or surviving government wil
react to his request for an Iran initiative...
