Yes I think that sometimes an explanation is more important than the appology.

That is actually very lifegiving and the idea of 'not left hanging' works well with trying to stay clear of manipulation etc.

I think it's important to apologize if you've hurt someone deliberately or through carelessness.  If you've done it unintentionally, I suppose it deserves more of an explanation than an apology, but still with an expression of regret that it happened.  A true apology isn't always easy because it's an admission that you were wrong and flawed about something, but I would think that most people would find it easier than leaving something just hanging.  Anyway...good questions ~

When you work in rehabs you sure get used to appologising!

It is embarassing to apologize. More so for a serious mistake.
