You need say no more. Humans are indeed silly and laughable in so many ways. Maybe the pregnant Mary could have gone through a couple of hours of simulated childbirth before she pulled out the baby. To me this could be seen as symbolic of the way some here approach issues of disagreement: don't do the hard and sometimes painful intellectual work that leads to thoughtful conclusions you are able to discuss respectfully with others who may have come to different conclusions. Just grab on to a belief that can't possibly be in dispute, then defend it against any and all detractors, like soldiers on the ramparts of a "sacred" city, fighting off the hordes of barbarians outside the walls, who want to burn and sack the city, kill all the men, rape the women, then take them and all the children away as slaves.
