Alt-characters are tricky. In at least one other web-based discussions program I have seen, alt-4 is an escape character (and alt-anything including 4, as alt-0241). Alt-7 can also be an escape character, and when I typed alt-0998 in this space, I ended up at dellnet.msn.com . 
Alt-0241, in my email, produces the character ñ. Typing it here knocks me out of Blogit. So, how to get the character ñ without typing a 4 or a 7?
Add 256 to 0241 and you get 0497. This has a 4 *and* a 7, so it should kick you out twice as fast. Oops. Add 256 to 0497 and you get 0753. 7's are suspect. Add 256 to 0753 and you get 1009. This did not get me an ñ. However, using alt-01009 did in fact get me an ñ, and did not kick me out.
alt-0225 á alt-0233 é alt-01005 í alt-01011 ó alt-0250 ú
To figure out other characters, it's safest to try it in email. And be suspicious of 4's, 7's, and 0998's.

Me sorpresa su Español. ¿Conoce la manera de usar last letras de la idioma? Es una cosa muy fácil. Tengo un artículo sobre eso. Puedo dirigirte allá si te gustaría.
Ahorita solamente estoy mirando la categoría Español. Una vez voy a escribir algo por aquí. Hay unos a quienes no les gustan una categoria para Español. Les doy un golpe con palabras en Inglés. ¡Y no saben que hablo de ellos aquí!
Lo de escribir Español perfectamente es una cosa muy difícil, pero no creo que hay mucha gente que lo puedan hacer--aún ellos que la tengan como su primera idioma.
Si me vaya a comprar algo como regálo, me gustaría un laptop. Dell sería bueno, pero no me gustan los Cheapos. jj

Por lo menos hemos sobrevivido otro año. Hemos tambien establecido esta isla hispana en blogit. Ojala que mas personas se unen en enero! Mi familia esta visitando la abuelita -- donde esta toda la familia con 5000 sobrinos y sobrinas -- todos intercambiando regalos! Yo fui varias veces, pero ya me escape de esa rutina --- demasiado traumatico.
