I think if you're clear about what a gift is and what it can and can't do for a relationship, then it's great. I have learned through family dynamics, that trying to buy affection, or patch up old feuds or whatever by giving an extravagant gift over the holidays never works, and that those who have no capactiy to be satisfied or feel pleasure never take pleasure in a gift.

Hi.. Common sense doesn't rule my heart either.I really like to give and try to make others happy, we just have to be carful not to spend what we don't have and end up crying about it!
