Amen Bro!  Let them celebrate Kwanzaa and Winter Solstice and . . . and let the majority of America celebrate CHRISTMAS!

I hear you on that.....

It's time to draw the line and say to the secularists:

IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR CHRISTMAS, JUST IGNORE IT!

Does it offend you,  well you offend us.....should you go away?

If you believe in something else, celebrate it, and if you choose, make those celebrations a public event.  But don't take another damned thing away from us.  80% of this country identify themselves as Christians......we need to be more vocal in our displeasure.

But Corbin, of course they want to return us to the pagan roots.  They'd be happy if we forgot the last few hundred years of celebrating the Christ of Christmas, instead returning to the original pagan celebration.  Let's pretend that Christmas never happened, that God never visited earth in the form of a man, so we can go back to celebrating our pagan roots.

Nope. I say let's dig in our heels and at least make it really difficult for them!

What I don't understand is that the Christmas was not started by Christians....it began as a pagan item........it not just redicilious that this is happening...it is threatening.  A vocal minority of 1 or 2 can stop traditions this country has observed for over 150 years.......

Burly, then they'd think they had won and we don't want to give them more delusions than they've already got.  I mean, really, we're being kind by not caving in to them.  Wouldn't want to overload their feeble mentalities with more delusional thoughts now, would we?

Amen to you, Offbeat!!!  We do think alike.  It must be the blonde hair . . . .

I will be merrily saying Merry Christmas to all whom I greet, with none of this watered down PC cr_p.

Jane
Why don't we cave in and call it "Holiday" instead of Christmas and make all the PC wackos happy?

I can't imagine buying a holiday tree.. I can't believe their doing this and gettting away with it. I have a CHRISTmas tree and I plan on keeping one until the day I die..There are a lot of Grinches out there, but no one should be allowed to steal Christmas!!

writersjourney, did you happen to note if the same number of people turned out for the parade?  "Sparkle Season."  Alrighty then.

I do agree that the almighty dollar seems to have taken precedence over the holiday season.  What matters most, it would seem, is how much consumer spending increased over last year.  Wrong outlook in my book!

Thanks for stopping by.

It's the Godless Consumer Culture that Kills the Christ in Christmas

In my town the local merchants (who are only interested in making a buck and therefore feel uncomfortable with anything that smacks of religion) have decided to call our annual downtown celebration, formerly known as the "Christmas Season," the "Sparkle Season."

This year, the banks and merchants celebrated the beginning of "Sparkle Season" with a pageant featuring Santa Claus and the "Ice Princess."

I can understand that some  people, significantly in marketing, want to return to the Pagan festival of the Winter Solstice; but let's call this thing for what it is. It is Paganism; is not being "neutral."

Yeah, CCN, and sadly the silent majority has been, well, rather too silent.  I hope that's changing, though.  I for one am really tired of having my free speech rights constantly eroded by a sniveling, whining group of ACLU (et al) scrooges.

It's the liberals in society's attempt to crush Jesus, as if they could!
And they wonder why they keep losing elections.  Good post.

Taps 'fraid I'm going artificial this year, too.  With my dog and the long, strong tail she has, it makes no sense to buy a large tree.  She's caused a little too much damage in the past . . . . So I have my artificial CHRISTMAS tree that fits perfectly on the window seat.

Thanks for all your comments!

JanesOpinion, I think I'll dig out that artificial one I've got somewhere around here.  It still says Christmas tree on the box.
