What, me criticise? You make a good point about writing boring stuff because the rest of the time you are doing interesting things. I don't quite get it, though. Wordsworth said poetry was emotion recollected in tranquility. Maybe blogging is something like that. Hemlocker

Hmmmm.... "you gotta be mundane...." Is someone criticizing some of the top blogs? 
I haven't checked them out lately.
The comment-leaving thing used to work a lot better when there were fewer bloggers. I got my best (non-hysterical) rankings when I wrote things that were actually interesting on a consistant basis. But "Bloggers' Law" says that the more interesting things that are happening in your life, and the more funny things you have to say about them, the less time you have to blog. Which is criminal, because you'll want to go back and relive those times, not the boring ones you have time to record.

You gotta be either controversial or mundane if you want high rankings--and you have to travel around to blog after blog and leave comments, preferably positive ones. Hemlocker
