Yes it was and still is.  I hope we start seeing the light of day in the affected areas soon!

I reached a point where I couldn't watch it anymore either........
I was crying my eyes out!    My husband turned the television off.

It makes you feel guilty in a sense
that we are in a nice cool home with hot water, flushing toliets, with electricity that we are waisting sitting at our computers blogging.(we are sio very fortunate) with that said we are all going to feel the effects of Katrina for quite some time.

Thank you for the info on Lafayette, I have really been wondering about the people I knew then.

I know what you mean.  NOLA used to be my second home, and it's one of my very favorite places. There is no other city in the US that is anything like it.  I'm afraid it will never be the same again.  I don't want this to happen anywhere, but jeez, couldn't it be a rural area that is pertty much unpopulated?  Well I guess not near the coast...But it's such a shame and a huge tragedy.  I can barely watch TV anymore.  This is hitting me as hard as 9-11.  I'm just glad my two friends who are still living there got out and are safe in Shreveport.  Oh, and I talked to a friend in Lafayette today who said he barely got enough rain to water his yard.

I just keep trying to imagine how I would take care of my children.

I know, my heart is breaking for all of them....I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through.

Yeah, just when I want to feel sorry for myself, I realize I can't throw
a pity party when everyone is already at another one--and rightfully so.  Those poor, poor, people.
