Could have been, ukie. But then, he can't be everywhere and there are
nutcases all over.

Freedom Of Speech and Religion, Silva. It protects us and ostracizes

some for their fringe beliefs.  However, they have the right to those beliefs, however unsavory they may be to the majority of us.

Was he the one in front
of our church this weekend?

Though I in NO WAY support what they say
if you want free speach, you have to allow that right to all or none.

I have an uncle who lives in Nashville and some good friends in Memphis.
Then there's that large group of cousins in Bristol, so I got the state covered with kin.

Ok
I was just wondering ... I live in the Nashville area and Ashland City where one of the funerals took place is pretty close to me.

The good thing about Rhesus monkeys, GhostintheMachine, is that we
get to run emperiments using them to better the human race.  If we tried to do experiments on those Westboro simians to better understand elitist sociopathic religious behaviour and better humanity by better understanding them, we'd be brought up on charges.

sannhet: though I like your analogy, I wish to disagree with it most
vehemently.  Most of those people are grown adults and they know exactly what they do.  They also understand that their actions have impact and ramifications, repercussions on all they come in contact with.  Otherwise, why protest at all?  They are a disgrace to thier chosen religion.  Forgive them?  Let the devil do it.

I just moved to Atlanta, calebs_blogger, which puts me in the general
region of Smyrna, Tennessee.  But there have been quite a few Georgians killed in Iraq lately and I have a bad feeling Phelps and the Feeb crew will be heading here soon.

Yes, Military_Wife, it is a shame. It is an execrable crime against honor
and humanity.  Like the one gentleman said, if they wished to protest the war, he may have even joined them.  But disrespecting the men and families like that was unconscionable (paraphrased by yours truly).

Saul, thanks for the post.
Well, I think this demonstrates these self-described "morally and spiritually superior people" have less compassion and empathy than a Rhesus monkey.

Saul -
While terrible what he is doing, we can't be too angry at him and his flock, for they know not what they do. It's like being mad at a young child who ventures out through the front door alone for the first time, and wanders into the street. We can't be mad at her, because she knew no better. All we can do it try and teach her safety versus danger.

I saw the same
news report in the paper.  You must live near me.  Anyway.. horrible thing they're doing.
