MayB,

You are definitely right in your response to my comment.  As I recall, I was in an irritated state at the time that I made it because I had just read something that I did take a little too seriously.  I proved the verity of your response even before you made it.

You do take it all in a good sense of humor--otherwise how would you ever be able to take me?

May, is it just me or did
most of your posters/commenters not catch what you were saying??

I think you were pointing out people being dramatic and threatening to leave Blogit. *sigh*

Maybe I just read you wrong.

Don't flounce off, MayB.  Who else on Blogit uses such delightful words as 'flounce?'

BrightIrish, experimenting is half the fun. I think you must judge your progress on a number of factors, and as I said in the post according to what is important to you.-- rankings are one way but the game gets in the way

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 11:13 AM | link to this | reply

In time .. If I have more readers that will frequent my posts, I would be very happy about it and on the same note, when they started drifting away then I would stop to question ' Why' and try to make changes to hold their interest. I wouldn't quit because of rank.

Ariel, I think people revert to the child crying for attention when they flounce.

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 11:02 AM | link to this | reply

JJ Wilde, it also applies to why we do any writing. There is some writing I do to make a living. There is other writing which is more experimental and which I hope might make me a living later. Ultimately we must decide what we want from each experience. If people are confused about that it doesn't help.

As for playground analysis, one thing I like about Blogit is that it is like watching a microcosm of society and unfortunately sometimes it's like a hot house. Yes I make observations on that but I feel detached. I mean can you imagine? To take it all seriously would be the route to madness

Blackcat, when people flounce they often cut off their nose spite their face. it's always a matter of each of us deciding what suits us best

I am reading you...

word.smith, as I say, I think everyone does it at least once in their life

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 10:37 AM | link to this | reply

JJ Wilde, no it's not confidential, not at all. It is not related to any individual. Sometimes you see that people are really troubled by this and you want to help them and sometimes people stamp their feet but they don't realize that writing is about the journey and that it takes time to become part of something

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 10:36 AM | link to this | reply

MayB.... you obviously get read so there's no need to flounce!
Good post.  I agree it's somewhat of an internal conflict at times.

girly-girl, thank you/ I do tell about myself here probably too much

mmm-w, I agree and I think that those reasons can change

Flouncing is a little awkward, especially when you threaten and
then don't go anywhere.

May,

Which flounce off incident are we discussing here?
I know that's probably Classified, but I thought I'd ask.
I'm head of Cow Pie Flippers local 335.    jj

MayB,

Flouncing off is a game.  Writing for Blogit is little more than a game.  None of it, in the final analysis, amounts to any more than seventh graders on the playground after lunch.

I think perhaps overanalysis of playground events is only another face of the game.
This comment is another.

i agree with scribers comment.... very true. we are all hear for different reasons..... and we all write completely different.

MayB --.
All of us have to determine just what we are getting from our writing here, and if it is worth the time and effort.

Scriber, it is liberating not to be pre-occupied with quantity

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 6:30 AM | link to this | reply

I think about the possible readers, but really don't dwell on them. That is
especially true at Blogit, where too many readers, comments, can be difficult to handle. I would not want more than five to ten comments a day, and do not get them.

posted by scriber on August 14, 2005 at 6:25 AM | link to this | reply

Good for you Aamie, I think true readers are best too - ie people who read

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 6:24 AM | link to this | reply

No regrets.
To thine own self be true may not get a large readership, but one can submit without regret.

I think fiction readers are more specific about what they want.

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 6:00 AM | link to this | reply

Write on! Readership for fiction is even worse.

Avant-garde, yes it's true. I do know what is most important and I must listen to that

posted by Azur on August 14, 2005 at 4:24 AM | link to this | reply

what you're saying is true
and i believe it's hard to do two things at once. i'm working on a second book and it's not coming along very well. it takes a lot of focus and energy to blog, and to write a book. my time is limited and i have other responsibilities. i may have to pop in and out and stop blogging continuously so that i may pursue what is more important.

Hey Renigade3, if I "flittered" then I would "show them" == don't think I can do delicate.

lolol---flounce has to be one of the greatest words ever coined. I love it. And there will be no flouncing off on my watch, you hear me!!
