You are very, very right about that.

Some are givers and some are takers.
The takers are never usually able to strike the happy medium between giving and taking.  Mostly it's take, take and then take some more.

I'll email you off site about his unit.  Yeah I know we are allowed to tell what unit but I sitll don't like to put it out there.  We aren't allowed to talk about so much that it's become a habit to talk in round about and vague.

You know I hate it when you make me see what a good guy you really are.  My husband has been in Iraq since shortly before the Iraqi election and the IED's along with a few of the others issues he has met first hand.

Shoot our guys were almost at Fort McCoy but because McCoy didn't have room for them they ended up at Fort Dix instead, so they will also demob from Dix.  Too bad, I could have let him give you some hell too .

OK, seriously, your service is deeply appreciated.  It doesn't matter where you are serving, we need that service and we need you to get those soldiers demob'd as quick as possible so they can get home.

Thanks again hon, yeah, ok, so you aren't a half bad guy and I kinda like you.  don't tell anyone it will ruin my mean reputation.

this is more for the poem

After reading MY blog, this will probably surprise you, but I am a paratrooper (guy who jumps out of airplanes into a combat zone) in the U.S. Army (my blog is a release valve for all the goofiness that I can't express during the day...gotta be hardcore all the time...I'm sure you know how it goes).  I am currently mobilized under Operation Enduring Freedom...but I got assigned state-side to help with the mobilization effort in Fort McCoy.  My brother is going to Kuwait in the fall.

I'm 19, and I've got no one missing me...I just go where they tell me to go and roll with it.  The only inconvenience I've had to deal with is getting pulled out of college.  But I know many, many families struggling with all of these deployments...I really do sympathize.  It's probably worse on you guys than it is on us...we're used to sleeping in the dirt...we'll be alright.  Great poem.  Tell your husband good luck for me.  If I had one word of advice, it would be this (if anyone reads this and knows someone deploying, tell them):  the biggest hostile killer of Soldiers in theater is I.E.D (improvised explosive devices)...especially on convoys.  TELL HIM TO KEEP HIS FUCKIN I.B.A.  (individual body armor) ON AT ALL TIMES.  FUCKIN SHOWER WITH IT ON!!!  It is saving lives everyday, and there are people out there who don't where it all the time because it is so hot and heavy.  Your husband probably already knows that, I'm sure...but just in case.  It is a subject I feel very strongly about.
