Nice Story

First thanks for your visit and comment.  I'm Puerto Rican, raised in the Bronx, NY; reminds me of my "culture shock" when I came to GA. 10 yrs. ago, and still not out of it after all these years.  mellyn

Yuck.....
I suppose Georgia's sense of smell is failing just as her eyesight - otherwise she's have wondered at the odour from the doggie's kiss....love the template!

For a good apple
pie, I could over look the ants. Besides they provide protien and are considered to be good fair in someplaces.

Hey Joe!
Funny story.  Reminds me of the time I made a ten-pound banana-coconut cream pie after my HS boyfriend told me it was his favorite kind.  I devised my own recipe based on two other recipes, and the pie was heavy enough to be used as a doorstop.  I remember the looks his parents gave each other when I brought it over to share for his birthday.  I don't believe anyone ate it while I was there.  Your page looks wonderful, by the way.  How did you do that????

Me again.....
Forgot to say, our little dog Tiffany goes nuts whenever anyone comes to visit, and she just won't leave them alone. She gets so excited!

Good Morning Joe_Love,

I just stopped by to tell ya that Of course I bought the balloon for my husband and not for Paws or Baby, our cats.  They were just being presumptuous cats.  Remember, I said I only buy something if I decide it is worth the money it costs in the time it takes to earn the purchase. Remember?  I'll have you know, I do not go to stores much.  My husband usually does the grocery shopping!  Anyway, I stopped and bought him that balloon and that is the only purchase I made.  He seemed happy, and surprised.  It is the little things that count a lot, right.  he-ha-ha!

I do appreciate your comments and visits and I hope you have a good day.  Until next time!   I'm on my merry way.

Arrrghhh. Nothing like the things dogs take for breath mints.
My old Golden used to love to eat the biggest, freshest, steamiest horse doots he could find, then run up to my neighbor and give her a sloppy kiss.

I don't think I could eat them either if she has a filthy house. She does sound like a sweetie though and your dogs like her. I don't look forward to being that age someday. Though my goal is to be extremely eccentric! Always wonderful to read your post and I love the way you've don't the background!

A day in the life......certainly worth tuning in for. Have you ever considered holding on to something your neighbor makes for you, re-heating it and giving it back, stating something like, "this is not as good as yours, but......" Could be funny!

OMG!! I was loving it until that last line...then I just had to go....ugg...but with a laugh. Too funny. What a waste of good fried apple pies, lol.

Joe_Love...You are such a delight to read.....
And thanks for saying you like reading my stuff. That's so sweet.... I loved this post, also. I would have sampled Miss Georgia's fried apple wraps. They sound great. I said "sound."  It's tough to get older and not cook like you used to. That poor, sweet lady. Bring her a present, Joe, some kind of little trinket. Tell your Monster, to be a nice guy. As fas as the goosepoop kisses, that made me chuckle. Very sweetly written with a sharp wit!

That was was most entertaining, as usual!  I picture your place to look like my sister and brother-in-law's land (except that their house is new!)  They are new to the country and have some pretty good stories.  Georgia would go well with their 61-year-old neighbor Jim who usually wears nothing but bicycle shorts (with gut hanging over waistband) socks, and house shoes...I like the new look of  your blog too!

So was there really an ant in the pie filling? That poor woman, she sounds like such a charm.  What have YOU baked for her lately?

I think I would have cut open the pies to see what was inside them before throwing them out! I love your descriptions, I can almost see your tongue in cheek.

OMG....to overlook the roaches when we went to see my grandparents toward the end of their lives!! They never threw away newspapers which is where roaches breed...not in filth as so many believe...in paper, like grocery bags, boxes, etc....anyway, they couldn't see them... It was so awful and they got so upset the first few times we mentioned it that we just spent the visits throwing things out, spraying, chewing the housekeeper we were paying out...making notes of things to watch for when we all get old....

Joe,
This post just made me laugh so hard my stomach hurts!!!  My Grandmother used to be such a good cook.  Now, If she says, "Would you like a roast beef sandwich?" you have to translate this, because what she is really saying is "Would you like a spam sandwich, with a little mold on the bread as a bonus?"  We go out to eat a lot now when we visit..

Go easy,
J. King
