I have 3 "babies" of my own - a Border Collie, a Golden Retriever, and a half Rotweiller/half Chow.  They are dear to me.  What kind are your new "babies"?  Sorry for your loss.  I'm sure I will be devastated when it's time for these to part from me.

As for the switch from city to country, I'm not sure I would be able to do it, although I am often tempted.  My boyfriend is from a small town where the houses aren't so close together.  There is something I like about that.  We'll just have to see what the future brings.  I just don't want to have to drive a half hour to get to a store or mall, maybe 15 minutes.

I enjoyed your post.

Country Living
I can see has it's ups and downs. I dream of living down a long country road one day...Thanks for the book suggestion.  I will definately look it up.

Joe,
It is sad you lost your beloved pet.  I know how attached we can become to our animals.  Enjoy your new little ones and your new home.

I haven't read you before tonight. Sounds like someone is pretty darn happy with the spread though!

Rachel--thank you so much!!
Believe it or not, I'm reeeeeeally trying to put some effort into this whateveritis. I've been amidst a 20-year period of Writer's Block/Writer's Shock.

Sorry you lost your pet, that is painful I know. My kitty cat Calypso had to be put down not long ago because of a brain disorder.

I just lost my Yorkie princess, Baillie, 3 months ago...I had her 16 yrs...got her right after I had a miscarriage and she was really my "baby"...did the same thing with laundry, had her plate...I teared up reading your description.  I'm just glad I had her that long..that's the downside of sharing the love of animals; it will almost always be too short a time, so you just have to treasure what you have. So glad you have two new babies.  Enjoy your time here.

Thanks for the tip. . ,
but, for right now, I'll have my hands keeping one up. I'm just having fun, right now.

Joe...You're new here so I wanted to say that
You should have more than one blog...2 or 3...and post to each of them daily. This will make your ratings go up.

Thanks for your comment in my blog about the blonde. She'll love your remark...Not that she's vain or anything...LOL

Joe Love - I have arrived with a pooper scooper in hand, based on the

assumption that your new babies are dogs.

Plus, wanted to compliment you, again, on your singing voice.  You should post some pictures of your babies.  I've got 6 of my own - of the non human kind.

12 yr old Siberian Husky, 9 yr old Husky/Chow Mix, 3 cats and 1 ferret.  Hence...I had the pooper scooper handy!  Keep writing!

That's sad.
I'm thankful that I can't have pet because of where we live. I get too attached and the loss is very painful. Like a member of the family has died.

Yeah, I still live with The Monster
As to why. . , well, I guess that would be the Ten Million Dollar Question.

Joe, everything doesn't have to come together neatly and point in the

Right Direction. This is Real Life and we are flesh and blood, prone to illogical behavior. Perhaps the story of your life is a wandering tale of joy and sadness, success and failure, laughter and tears. Mine is. Nothing has ever come together in a nice little package like I wanted it to.

Are you still living with the monster? And how come?

I'm sorry about your dog. I lost a beloved cat once named Fluffy. I wrote about it and it made me feel better but I still miss her. Now I have a gray cat called Seven.

If your blog has a pointed direction, it wil be the only one around here!  Sorry to hear about your baby Yorkie.  My dogs are my babies.  I write often of the heartbreak of one of them getting older and having health problems.  My sister has been making the adjustment from city life to country that you are.  There are certainly good things and bad things. The quiet is nice.  I live a couple of miles from downtown Dallas, so even though the neighborhood is nice - lots of trees, etc. - quiet it isn't!

Joe_Love,
How sad. We live in the country...our driveway is 475 feet long, up a hill, into the woods. We wouldn't trade it for the world

I haven't adjusted yet
I went from a place where everything was "perfect" to a place where NOTHING is perfect. I realize that right now, the three posts in this blog seem somehow unrelated, and last night I finished composing a fourth to throw in the batch which will further my reader's feeling that this is yet another blog which is a convoluted mess! However, in the end I'm sure everything will tie together quite nicely and the column will have a pointed direction.

Condolences on your pet Yorkshire. Did it take you long to get used to the
country. I went from the city (cars, noise, and city lights) to the country(crickets, silence and dark) and it took me some time to adjust. Nothing like hearing the cry of a Florida panther in the middle of the night to wake you up.lol

I'm sorry about Perry. Many people underestimate how much an animal can mean. "It's just a dog" "It's just a cat," they say. I lost a treasured cat the way you lost Perry. Your life sounds good now. Wish you could come and decorate my place. Hemlocker

We think she got hit by a car or truck
It was late at night when we discovered that she wasn't in the house. It was foggy outside, and while the monster was wandering through the property calling out her name, I went right for the car and began driving down the highway. About a mile up the highway, my headlines caught something lying on the road and without knowing for sure what it was, I knew what it was.

The memory of picking her body up and placing her on my lap while I drove back to the house still haunts me to this day.

Did she run away or get run over?
