calebs_blogger -- Did you get into the wrong line up or something??
Though I appreciate you stooping bye, did you miss the part about being in that church against my will? I know you did not intend to be insulting but I find matter of fact discussion about the "holy spirit" and talk of worshipping some imaginary and invisible being as insulting. Not in a derogatory sense but more in that it assumes that I am capable of reconciling these constructs with reality. In other words; adhere to these primitive fabrications if you must but do not assume that I must.

I don't worhip that way myself
but I respect the fact that the Holy Spirit works in each of us differently. I would encourage you to seek out a church filled with believers (and maybe a few skeptics just checking it out) who aren't so physically enthusiastic in their approach.

Hemlocker - thanx - I've seen this particular group get into this state a
few times. As they are in laws, I can't permanently give them the slip or avoid them. I agree it is a state of uncontrollable glee but in the case of Venus Williams it is a perfectly natural human reaction. In the case of the jumping Jesus brigade it is an artificial high, instilled with a number of agendas at play. Converting people like myself being one of those agendas. Besides, they all looked about as silly as a human being can look.

religion and muscle tone
gomedome--
When Venus Williams won Wimbledon yesterday, her emotions were so wired (or un-wired) that she simply could not stop grinning, jumping, bending, twisting, smiling. For a few minutes she was simply out of control. I think that is what happens to some people in the throes of religious "rapture." Your posts are interesting and funny. Hemlocker

This is funny
I been to churches were everything is just incoherantly nuts.
once I was at a black church were this one guy was seemingly being electrocuted as he shimmied and shamooed around on the ground. It was kinda scary.
