the husband likely blew everything "playing the ponies" (or at an OTB), not the "dogs". I find that most people who send in questions, tend to alter elements (besides, obviously,
names) to further ensure anonymity. For instance, I know for a fact that one woman changed "Spanish casserole" to "
Hungarian casserole". The dish's nationality being disguised to, presumably, protect the recipe.

She could just tell her husband to pick a winner once in a while. Its hard to lose that much to the dogs. He must be clueless
