I'm wondering if L.E Grant was on something because you are definatley one of the best bloggers here, and wriing doesn't always have to be substance. I mean compared to you, my posts are fluff. Take care of yourself sweetie. I'm really sorry to hear about your friend.

MayB, I believe you raise the standards much more often than you
lower them ------ you're a definite net gain!

I am confused. He goes from complaining about sensationalists (not you) to complaining about writers of substance (is you). Scratching my head on this one.

May B

I am thrilled to be one of those lesser writers bringing Blogit down. I am in such wonderful and loving company of folks like yourself.

I would pray for the unhappy chappy that wrote of we lesser beings, but I wouldn't get the words right. You know.

MayB, I'm so glad that the few times I have been in the top ten no one told me I needed to be a standard barer.   That would have scared me to death.   How I got to the top ten, I can't even remember now but it must have been a fluke.   I certainly am no Joan of Arc of writing.

Your last paragraph?
Now THAT was good writing. Blogit should be exactly what you said MayB, an outlet. A place where you don't have to stick to strict rules and guidelines. AND, everyone should be able to use this outlet as they choose. Sounds to me like your critic needs to find a different one.

Sorry about your friend. Honor him with your words...

Ah MayB, don't sweat it...

you know that you cannot please all of the people all of the time!  It does not matter who you are or what you do for a living - there is always a critic!

MayB, Sorry to hear about the the loss of your friend.  People can practice their writing here at Blogit, but to read "good" writing, HA... why waste one's time here with so many classics and excellant "traditionally" published material out there.

Take care of yourself and those health issues. Death does so often manage to take us by surprize. You're in my thoughts.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care. And please don't think much.  .. All of us have our share of low times. And we are here, to share....

MayB: You're a professional. You've taught. If you read many of the bloggers, they say that they are here to learn the craft. As you know, there are only two ways to do so, preferably used together: either read a lot that is of a high standard and write to the highest standard you can. You have intimated this a number of times. ALl I did was call you to live up to what you know you are capable of.

Gee, now I'll have to read Gant's blog. Since you publicized it!

No, I don't. It's just the Internet. At least you just lowered the bar; I make the place untenable for some!

You know I'm with you.  You have sounded so under the gun recently, I decided to let you be for a bit.  You certainly have had more than your share these days.

As for the big writing controversy here, and you know I'm being silly here, I think of that WC Fields or Groucho Marx line:  I don't want to be in a club that would have me as a member.

Oh MayB :(
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Oh you must be going through so much right now..there are never the right words in cases like this. What tragic news. :( And MayB you said everything about blogit in your last paragraph. L.E. is just one person...there are so many on here that appreciate your input/your talent. As I said to L.E., blogit is multi-faceted..it meets the needs (or should) of writers of all kinds..and as writing is so often a solitary experience it brings us together in word and spirit (or should!) Please disregard such biased and unbased comments...and of course, as you say, it is the least of your worries. MayB..please know you are in my thoughts. *hugs*
