- Go to Another one that someone once told me: If God is omnipotent,
IF GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
I have always heard leave no stone unturned perhaps it is God who has turned these stones

I never knew why
people bother asking these kinds of questions about God, any one of them.
I never knew why people bother trying to make big, incontravertible statements of what He/She/It/They can do, either.
I guess more than anything, those people really just want to be right and the others be wrong.
To many, that makes no difference.
Interesting question, though. I used to have a big list of "high theory" questions, those most were so long as to be essay questions. They were always good at parties.

StraigtF,
I'm not even the slightest bit aware of what offended you, but I'll just avoid you from now on. I might come back for an explanation of the source of your offense, then I'll remember to stay clear.

Hey JJ Wilde
Perhaps we can be sensitive in how we make our criticism?

Hey Jesse Jean
When I said you need to feel the pain before understanding pleasure, I meant that one needs to feel the pain before understanding pleasure. I didn't mean you as in YOU. I have gone through your posts and I think I quite see that you have been through pain

IF???????????????????
God made the stones, he made them so men would not be foolish enough to build their houses upon the sand-- he doesn't have to lift them-- that is like saying "GOD made the challenge so let God do the work needed to learn the lessons-- you must do the work your self to learn the lessons -- you told me that I needed to feel the pain before I knew the pleasure-- if you had read on-- all the posts I have written-- you might have realized that I have many times known pain-- and the pleasure --- it is only through pain and lessons that we grow and learn to enjoy the pleasures.

...I suspect He/She can do just about whatever He/She wants to do...from creating a world to pulling woman out of man's ribs, to parting seas, and speaking out of burning bushes...if He/She wants to...no stone too heavy, no man's heart too hardened

The problem is the question. For one thing, it begins with 'IF'
which suggests other questions need to be truly answered first before any answers to this one become anything more than speculation.

What I would like to know is...
if God is omnibenevolent, omnipotent, and omniessent, how did the world wind up so unjust? And don't try to give that nonsense about free will...free will doesn't have anything to do with three year olds dying in screaming agony of tay sachs disease...any ideas? I've never been able to figure it out, I just figure that what men say about God is mostly B.S. Not trying to say that there is not God, there must be some sort of creator or whatever...just that men use their ideas of God for nefarious purposes...peace...

Here's another one:
If God is omnipotent, can He pose a question to which He does not know the answer?

If that stone is a human who has no faith, then yes, God cannot lift that stone. Then again, God can effect a change of heart and make a conversion too. So He can lift all stones if He chooses so.
