There isn't and shouldn't be anything wrong with pride. It's what we feel after we've realized we've accomplished what we set ou to do. Pride is the emotional payoff. There's a difference between pride and arrogance, one that's easily recognizable and simple to distinguish. It all determines on the interpretation. Someone could say you are "bragging" about your kids and the obvious good job you did raising them. The question isn't whether or not you are, but what would make them think so. I discovered long ago that people view the world as the world views them. They react to others as others have reacted to them. The truth is only true if people believe.

I am proud of my children except when I am not ;-0. My son can be a pain in the butt.

Me, the one thing I loathe in other people (and myself, when it happens) is false modesty. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying "I did THIS", or feeling pride in one's children (or people one has influenced directly).

So, good on you, for feeling pride in your offspring. And in yourself for having influenced them, even if it was an accident (through the genes). It's what you do with what you've got that should generate pride. The more you start with, the more you should accomplish. Lack of pride in accomplishment is the road to mediocrity and worse!

Gypsy...
Thank you.  Yes, anything in excess can be bad while most things, in moderation can be good.  Thanks for reading.

Alf...
I'm fairly proud of my offspring as well. I have other little things I'm proud of in my own realm too of course. I don't consider pride to be a bad thing in all because it helps in the area of self esteem and many people can use it. However, it can become out of hand and cause ego's to become overweening. There's a fine line out there somewhere and when I stop being a Goddess I'll see if I can find it LOL.
