I met a guy like that once - in person. No matter who he talked to in the room he had a way of connecting with them and making them feel like they were the one and only, most important person in the world. Sure worked with me...sigh...but I saw him do it with men, women, kids. It's truly a gift.

What is it about people like that that they can turn on the people around them. I heard a description of Bill Clinton that he could work a roomful of people so that as he was shaking one person's hand, he was making eye contact with the person behind them, and the person whose hand he was shaking felt that they had been talking, connected and special the whole time. Maybe Hilary felt that about him once a long time ago, before all the Monicas and Ginnys, etc.

MerryAnne, one of the people I met last week was just like your friend--it was easy to sit and watch him and then when the conversation started to flow it felt so good. Perhaps it's a sign I don't get out enough

I think that Bill wouldn't have time
to have sex with EVERYONE he met. Too bad Yasser Arafat is dead - or we could ask him ;)
I have met people who are really engaging. In fact a friend who has this amazing voice and is tall dark AND handsome, attracts so many people to him at parties that you have to stand in line just to say hi.
No line ups around me though...
