If commentators were sparing it would help. Where are you? How are you? Hope all is well

I hear it is not good to be there.

The que is zooming past the catafalque, and Rome's infrastructure is being sorely tested. The sewers alone might fail!

The Vatican seems to have a habit of "alternating" modern popes, so the next one might very well be a stay-at-home.

Maybe he'll blog?

Good point...there are a lot of events that would be better if we (the audience) were left in peace with our own observations and feelings.  We can always post our own idiotic babbling later on here - no need for the pros to ruin the original expereince.

I guess reporters are paid to report and perhaps the majority of their viewers want to hear what they say... or perhaps not. I only ever have the news on in the background while I'm doing other things.

Friarcito, so irritating, no? Better to just BE there, I'm sure.
Reporters are so enamored of their own voices and facts and idiocies; it's painful to have their interruptions during serious moments.

maj, thanks for the station. On my favorites now.
Yup, this will be a very interesting choice, this next one. Wonder if he'll live only a few days or survive for thirty years? Wonder what he'll champion, what he'll ignore? Will he move outward or inward? So many questions, so many years to wait and watch.....

Maybe this will help. (majroj)

Maybe Vatican Radio would be a better soundtrack?

I remember being on annual deployment in Texas when I heard on a patient's  TV about the pope being shot. I spent half an hour searching down my nursing supervisor, a huge JP II fan, if you will, to let her know first.

I think now is the time we will see the true colors of those involved in pastoral abuse complaints. Some already are, if not cheering his passing, looking forward eargerly to a pope who might be more vigorously on their side (i.e., not necessarily on the side of truth per se).
