AMEN! MAYB

Great post! I wholeheartedly second your opinion. I will have a living will done at some point.

I find it despicable how people are twisting this story for political ends.

I also do not want precious resources keeping my body alive or in using 'heroic' measures to resuscitate me after a certain point.

AMDG, How can anyone know the the truth of Terry Schiavo's case based simply on what they read or hear in the media? I did not state that Terri Schiavo is in an irreversible coma or on a ventilator nor did I make any statement about her condition and what she can and cannot do.

You say "get the story first". You mislead yourself if you believe you have the full story,
I am much more careful than you about claiming to know the story. The accounts from BOTH sides are now so agenda-driven it is impossible for readers and viewers of news to get near the truth. And for that reason we are in no position to judge.

Terri Schiavo is NOT in an irreversible coma
She is NOT on a ventilator. Get the story first.

She suffered brain damage that leaves her unable to swallow, limits her movements, and makes her unable to speak. She sleeps, she wakes, she recognizes family members, laughs and cries. She receives nourishment through feeding tubes. They're gone so so she will die of thirst/ starvation. Real humane. I don't need to be in her husband's shoes to know I would never starve a loved one to death.
