Actually Moondawg
that is a very interesting question. I have one script I am chomping at the bit to get complete and submitted to a small local film company with an eye on being cast as the lead....

No it doesn't
it would seem to me that they would actually compliment each other quite well. You do research for writing, you reasearch a character. You speek your lines so that they have meaning and the proper emotion, you try to do the same when you write. Have you given thought to doing some play writing.

How to get a title:
Start by writing the whole piece. Then summarise, summarise, summarise, until you can get the essence down to a small number of words!
Now, if I would follow my own advice, I'd be #1!

Yes, a good title does a lot, however, it has to have a link or a good reference with what will follow or else many readers can be dissappointed for not getting what they wanted to see/read in the beginning by seeing that title. Finding that good balance IS the golden trick! See you!!

Besides...
Coming up with good hooks is practice for submitting those pesky query letters. Or so I've been told.
