you know, my family - parents, brothers and sister and myself, were all Republicans (my eldest brother was even the head of the young republicans at his law school).... until Bush came into office and now only my youngest brother (a felon who cannot vote), supports the Republican party... we are now all considered crazy liberals (except the felon).... after years of being a Republican.... who'd a thunk it?!  ~Metta

WriterOfLight...
I really liked your comment here. hence the changing of my nickname. Same ol' truthful "steelerman61" here just a better name! Hey empty headed painter, oopps, empty handed painter why don't you change your name to "so blue statesman". Whine on liberals whine on! I feel your pain, I think?!

Democrat Party: America's Cancer!
Hey, I kinda like that title. It fits very well! HEHEHE!

Empty handed
I disagree with the titles as well...that is why I went for the good old "On Politics" I am a moderate conservative (south park republican), but was a hardcore liberal at one time until it just didn't make sense to me anymore.
I'll be the first one to point out hypocrisy on both sides. Healthcare is a good place to start on the Conservative side: I believe that everyone has a right to recieve quality healthcare...if we have the ability to heal then we shouldn't offer the best just for the wealthy.

I've been thinking about this lately
and it seems to me conservatives generally base their beliefs on fear and emotion rather than rational thought and evidence.

mr. light
read what I've said conservatives are doing.
Then try to deny that.

and about those red states -- you want to really gloat don't you?
about what?
one vote can make a state red or blue.
Missouri was red by a slim margin, just as several states were
and Ohio's vote is stillsuspect
a few thousand votes there in the other direction and it would have been "Bye, Bye, Bushie!"

CONSERVATIVE, PISS ME OFF!!!!

More proper punctuation of the title of this post. Sounds like we're fulfilling your demand! (Bet you didn't think a conservative would say that, did you?) As far as those various and sundry charges go . . . we do? We are? Empty-handed painter has filled with discolored paint the brush s/he isn't holding. Better stir that paint and mix in some true conservative pigment, like the red that filled so many states of the Union in November.

Nothinking perso has a problem with freedom of speech
But --- if someone uses that freedom of speech to suppress another's freedom of speech -- then what do we make of it?

I am simply pointing out that that is what this appears to be.

The one thing I noticed is that after 9/11 the republicans and democrats
were going to work together, then after the election we said the country is divided and we all have to work together, why does it look like this is not working? The country is split in two and the main culprit is Iraq.

D-Mann ~ Conratulations. Yes, 'pigheaded' is an adjective.

Tomorrow we'll move on to adverbs.  Who says liberals can't learn?

Ariala - I can see it now... I'm driving down the road and see someone in an electric car with a bumber sticker that says, "I hate Roofpig."

roofpig, now you are insulting Ariala herself! THIS MEANS WAR! Wait,
I'm not a Republican...I will print bumper stickers instead!

mark - so if I was to bad-mouth the midget population, that'd get you riled up?

God hates the little people.

Mark

Exactly where did I call you a name? Did I call you a poo-poo pants or something without realizing it? Or did I accurately describe how stubbornly militant you are in your desire to stifle freedom of expression while defending your right to create distrust and anarchy through hostility? Check it out, dummy, pigheaded is an adjective...not a noun. Oops, now I DID call you a name. Sorry. My bad. It was a acceedent.

Roofpig ~ No, carry on.
But you could include something about midget-lusting if you're gonna want to hurt my feelings.  Wait...I love midget lusting.  I dunno, call me a hippy, then.

mark - aw, does that mean I have to retract the name-calling?  I was all ready to get into to it, too.

Hey, that's CONSERVATIVE Nazi porkhead ~
You know, the ones that one the last election over you hippies.

mark - I'm not pissy, I was just pointing out something that I've already posted about once or twice before.  I don't consider myself liberal, but everyone else does.  I find good points on both sides of the spectrum.  But I do tend to notice that conservatives resort to name-calling and angry posts more than liberals.  You fuckface conservative.

Oh oh, is the Nazi porkhead on the loose? Where's my hippie headband,
dang it.

Roofpig ~

Thanks for being so typically liberal....post an opposing viewpint and you call people names.

Liberals need to grow up if they want to get their views across and actually win a election.  Being all pissy just won't get it done.

Mark -- Typical Pigheaded Reaction

Mark, nobody said your couldn't title your blog however you like. The writer of this blog simply pointed out the hostile slant of such titles. At least try to keep your head on straight about this, okay?

If you want to read about the true enemies of the state (who wish to dissolve the union between the states based solely on religious differences) then check out this post:

Uh...liberals trip over themselves protecting Indian-wannabe...
..Ward Churchill's "freedom of speech" right to accuse everyone that died on 9/11 of being "little Eichmanns" but a blogger can't title his post the way he wants?  Don't think so.  It's freedom for all, after all.
