WriterofLight,
Blame the media for most of what we're told and not told, not the democrats. Also, I must second scoop's comments.

And Writer of Light did you know?

There have been many of these "urban legends" circulating through the Internet touting the U.S. and their rebuilding of Iraq. Matter of fact this piece you have here is in an urban legends website. And as the site says it is undetermined if they are true of not.

I would like to see more proof i.e. tell me the names of the 47 countries for starters.

I have see many of these and they may have been put out during the days of Paul Bremer and the Coalition Provisional Authority.

WriterofLight,

Do you know schools are not being built here in America?

Do you know police are overwhelmed here in America?

Do you know education is out of reach for Americans?

Do know people are unemployed in America?

Please!

You are a fool to think everyone else is! Did you know that America spent over 200+ billoon dollar to destroy a sovereign nation that had a abundance it's own intellectual and political will! Without the murder and mayhem! So keep spreading your uninformed garbage and try to color it as informing Americans of their ignorance.

Damon,
I don't want to go get'em but the balance does need redressing. WriterofLight speaks of the "lack of accentuating the positive" when it comes to Iraq. If the positive was "accentuated" which means to emphasize, that would also mean the coverage would be biased in the other way.
It would be interesting to give people a list of 30 international news stories on a given day but then give them only 12 slots on the page and see what stories they choose. In my experience one is hard pressed to accentuate anything positively or negatively because the news of the day prevails. It is more than likely that a story about a rebuilding project might not make it against breaking news.
WriterofLight, could you shed light on which "liberal" news sources you surveyed in order to make this comparison and for how long? I don't think you realize how much info is included in stories in reputable papers.

BTW, I have stepped right back from Blogit but looked in and saw my comment had been relayed in an incomplete form.

WoL,
Nice to see another opinion.  I won't say any more.  I weary of being harassed by those with whom I disagree.

It seems I wasted my time offering my insights on this. I realize the realities of the newsroom that I describe do not sit well with your pre-conceived notions. Go get some editing experience and then come back and tell me how it works. If anyone is interested in reading the discussion paste in the following link -

Writer of Light
Excellent post. According to Beachbelle, a liberal-leaning blogger who recently left us, the positive events you mention are not newsworthy. She works in the news media, and once lectured me on the difficulties that news editors have in deciding which stories to publish. This happened over in Amateur's blog about the sayings of Sun Tzu. I gave her a website maintained by the Department of Defense about the hundreds of stories about reconstruction in Iraq. None of these stories were being published anywhere else. She gave me lame excuses about the difficulty of making media decisions, and would not acknowledge the bias of the editors. But you and I know that the liberal bias is the most important factor in their "editing decisions." Right?
