It's important for young people to realize there are consequences ...
for their decisions, for better or worse. Mommy and Daddy shielding them from the cold, cruel world of their actions does them no favors, and only perpetuates the feeling that they don't have to be held accountable for their actions

scoop, thank you for the comment. I asked her that very question. Even
though she has attended a meeting for wives, moms, girls etc. and has been told to expect this type of letter in boot camp, and even though she understands how difficult it is to get out of it at this point, she continues to say that he is coming home. What does she know that I don't?

Kingmi, your mention of the marines got my attention
so I read your posts and found them very interesting and I have one question, being an ex-marine and knowing how boot camp is run, how is the lad just "coming home". When I was in it was not that easy. It sounds like he is love sick, unless I am missing something, but he does not understand the repercussions of washing out of training and what it will do to his future.
