mine gave up everything for her loser boyfriend, and would still take him back in a heartbeat.

when I don't get a chance to read your post everyday.
This is a great one.
Getting a kid to start "thinking" down the road about some very important questions as you've done is the best thing they can ever learn. One of my major missions as a teacher is to get students thinking at a "critical and logical level," a skill most people don't want to develop (they let others think for them and follow based on some simplistic, thought-killing precepts).
Your daughter sounds like a smart cookie; but you're smarter than most parents-- you know your 16 year-old (as do all) still needs major guidance and you've got a way to do it and, simultaneously, let her learn.
