MandaLee, your 3 sentences were an entire blog post in themselves.
My saddened, yet practical response would be to be sure to get a much larger dog this time. How very sad for you, I am so sorry. We had to stay in the yard with my daughter's 9 puppies every time we let them out because a huge owl sat on top of a telephone pole next to the yard and salivated over those chubby babies. Scary. I am so sorry, and on Christmas, for goodness sake. Gosh

Great story! Makes me miss having my dog.  She was killed by a hawk last Christmas at 15 yrs.
