kingmi,
it's funny how we become these Blogit! stumpers, is it not? I love to tell people about my blogging experiences. I like discipline of writing a short piece every few days. Also, coming up with interesting and original comments is also a challenge. Great post!  red

Hi kingmi
I had not read your blog in a while. Loved the "Who's on first" deal between you and your daughter. Wonderful poem too.

I never discuss my blogging with anyone. So I think you're very brave.

Your writing is really a great read!

Thanks and Best,

barnabee

Moondawg, Blogit! is becoming an obsession with me.  Nice to have a hobby that is constructive and harmless.  Do your friends blog?

I'm always talking to others
about the blogging, that is when I talk to others. Some think it strange while others find it interesting. It beats talking about sports or your job. I'm no longer much on sports in case you're wondering. I have many fond memories of English teachers, they are the ones that gave me the love for the written word.

kingmi - its not just daughters, sons cannot be controlled either! Its nice you could chat to your mother about blogging. If I started to talk about something like that to my mother, I would have to go into long explanations about what it is etc. Come to think of it, thats what I do to my boys! lol

Kell, I probably allow my kids too much freedom, but I can't
control them all the time.  And I'm always there to point out flaws in their thinking and warnings about this and that.  also, I do have the power to take away cell phones, which I have done!

Kingmi, Satan has NOTHING on my daughter, probably not yours either.  I only wish I had that attitude again, I think it's great although it's born of a naive perception.  Very amusing to me sometimes and very annoying to me most of the time!

Kell, my 15 year-old blogs too, but on a different network.
You may have heard of it "Satan Atacks With A Pitchfork!"  Just kidding.

Kingmi,
I have a 16 y/o daughter and even she is an online blogger although she would demand to differ.  God forbid that I'm right for once!

Sassy, I had the opposite experience.  So many of the comments I got were smarmy and forced.  Teachers never understood what I was writing about (knowing myself as I now do I can see why) and frequently I never understood what they were trying to say to me.  Under the age of 14, most kids cannot handle abstracts.  That's what most teachers try to explain about writing, and in abstract terms.  That's why I just lost my feel for commenting.  I spent my time reading, laughing, asking questions out loud so the others could hear my praise.  But now I'm back to making simple, concrete, positive comments!  Thanks you you guys.

Its amazing how a simple comment
can boost a person's ego. I remember a teacher that would leave comments on papers that he particularly liked. He left me a few and it stuck with me for years.

I told my mother about blogging and she went and joined!  Luckily she's gone now....I think!

beach and ocean, you are both right, yet I continue to spread the word.
I feel so changed as a learner, using my strengths for a change.

Haha, Kingmi,
most people never understand about the blogging. Not even my writer friends and they of all people should understand. :-D
