I saw Roy Orbison at the State Fair in TX when I was a kid. I thought he was wierd, but I do like some of his music. He had an amazing voice.

I think Orbison had visual problems but was not quite completely
blind.  He had a fearsome voice.  That was a great movie, Blue Velvet.  It made me feel cathartitic by the time I left the theater.

Great article, Roy Orbison had a truly, one of a kind voice.I'm also a big fan. However I don't believe that Orbison was blind, I remember hearing that he wore the shades because his fans thought it looked "hip" on him. I may be wrong about this but I really don't think so. The important thing is that he had a great voice and was a great entertainer.

David, thank you. Have you heard this song? It is still spellbinding for
me.  Also, pleading theory posed by Robin Williams in one of his early films -- I can't get the name -- It's OK to miss her now."
