Tanoolicious...
Thank you very much...oh, and never say never.  I don't know your situation but you have decades in which to get closer to your own Father.  People change over time, you never know.  Thank for reading.

You have obviously done an exeptional job at being a father.  Your daughter writes beautifully, pationately, and from the heart.  You are quite lucky to have such a relationship with her, and to have a daughter who recognizes how lucky she is as well.

Wow Alf, this poem is absolutely beautiful, there are some things i didnt understand, but its obviouds they are things both of you share....  Im 22 and will never achieve that level of closeness with my father, what you 2 have is beautiful, God bless

Wiley Coyote...
I'm glad you can understand how it made me feel.  As a Father we often question ourselves, our judgments over the years.  When she wrote this for me it just filled me up, validated me in a way, made me feel like everything was after all, worth it.  I was very honored indeed.

Alf
If any one of my 5 kids or 4 step-kids ever wrote something like this about me, my God, it would make me the happiest man alive. What a wonderful tribute to you as a father, a man. I am so very happy for you, and forgive me my envy. Bless your days manfor herfor you

Nurture her talent, Alf. She's obviously an "apple" that has not fallen
far from your "creative tree". This is exceptional work from one so young. Congrats, papa!

Excellent, and it takes talent to create a picture of something...

through words.  The little details of her life as your daughter, tell the grander story, and allow us all a peek into what her mind's eye sees and remembers.  What a load of mushy crap!!!  I loved it!!!

Suomynona..Thank you so much..your
comment made me get teary eyed.  I am hoping I get a lot of comments on this because I want to show them to her, so that it's not just me telling her she is talented.  Thanks again.

Alf
Please tell your daughter she has the gift of creating emotions within her readers as you do. Her beautiful tribute to you made me cry (now I KNOW I'm a self-confessed sook....but still...I don't get teary over just anything!) because it was so heartfelt and so full of love and gratitude. She is a credit to her parents and herself and I hope she fulfills all her dreams.

What I loved about this poem were the references to all of the special moments that only you two will understand. Like your own special secret, your own club. You should feel very proud of both your daughter and her poem to you.

Wow, even though I knew you had grown children I assumed you had boys- and I assumed that when you said your daughter wrote you a poem that she was like 4. This is truly something to treasure- you are obviously a father who put in the time when it was needed to create a strong human being who can think for herself. Her tribute to you is awsome, I got teary eyed. Thank you so much for letting us read this; it gives me hope that some day the kids will be adults. Good adults. Thank you thank you!!

Norse..
Tell your daughter it's beautiful. The sentiment and the poem itself. I cry everytime one of my "babies" writes something for me... nothing wrong with that at all!
