Hmmmm...
Interesting post. What is morality? The only answer can be found in the Torah - the Law. That is the basis of all morality. Explicit detail is given as to which kinds of relationships God says are appropriate, and which ones are not appropriate. When you throw out that standard, all you have left are misguided guesses.

"under God" is not "His word" -- it was inserted in the mid-50's by congres
I never said it was

Yep, that's what I was talking about.  They didn't show it here in Dallas (big surprise) and I was quite peeved about it for a couple of days.

i guess you're referring to the movie, SAVING PRIAVATE RYAN, where some ABC affiliates (St. Louis among them) are reluctant to air the movie since the fines assessed for the Janet Jackson nipple ring debacle.
and I suppose other things that aren't common knowledge.
I for one would be interested in a reading of a few instances if you have access to them. put em here or in your own blog and let us know and it should be and interesting read.

Ask the FCC
Apparently they're making decisions regarding morality for all of us these days.  (They've pissed me off this week, as have people condemning homosexuals, and gay marriage.  I read your post at the right time!)

Barrett -- where have you been?
it is neither liberal nor conservative.
it is what people do.
When we talk about sexual mores, we see a departure from Christian Conservatism more and more (not that it hasn't been uncommon -- My Father and Mother and much of their generation (born 1907) did not adhere to such. From what I understand, a sizable segment of the population did not adhere.
We talk about homosexuality -- it is more visible now. It is also more widely accepted -- we are really talking between 40 and 50% acceptance.
This is neither liberal nor conservative -- in fact I would dare to say that people don't think liberal or conservative at all in consider such issues -- that they simply have accepted what was not previously accepted.
You talk as if 90% of the country adheres to your viewpoint. only 51% of the voters preferred George W. Bush and that makes up only about 40% of all those of voting age.

I disagree with much of what you've said here, but I do agree that
politics is not the arena for enforcing religion.

Are you the Goose?
My God when will the Liberals just understand that a good portion of America doesn’t share their beliefs?   The final voting results and the exit polling indicated that values played a big hand in the election outcome.  Liberals, whether you like it or not, your values are perceived as extreme and some of the Democratic judges have proven just that point.  These judges have helped exaggerate the poor morality of the Democrats by creating laws before citizens had the opportunity to vote on them.  When American citizens finally got their chance to vote on the marriage issue, it was very clear what they valued.   It’s understandable that you’re disappointed, but reality is what it is.  Your hurt feelings can’t save the godless platform and gloom and doom theology that Terry McAuliffe managed to grind the Democratic Party into.  Your Liberal energy would be better served at demanding a new and reconstructed Democratic Party.  Americans are more intelligent than you give them credit for.  If Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokoff, Michael Moore and the "Boss" didn't get your points across during the election, it's because the majority of America didn't agree with them.  That's it sister.  Or brother.   But boy oh boy, there are a lot of sisters on this Blog site!  Ladies and Gentlemen, the pulpit is here for you, but please don't give us the BS about Carl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, or any other person that intimidated the dummies in the red states.  What a crock of total manure.  Go back to your college classrooms now and let your liberal professors feel your pain.

What is moral? Wow, what a great topic for a blog! What a great topic for an entire life! I can't answer this in one sentence, but virtue sums it up nicely. I mean cultivating all the virtues and applying them expertly for every given situation you find yourself in.
