I've never had an experience like that. I'm lucky. My family has been very accepting of my differing views. They just think I'm one brick short of a load . . .

reminds me of when
I took the path of my newly discovered religion -- Worldwide Church of God -- so much was against what was accepted -- my Father was not all that religious, yet the beliefs I had acquired he could not accept.
We had a lot of hard times -- but I believed and I proceeded to act on those beliefs, to the dismay of my family and friends.
