I'd like to know...
since the price of joining is increasing substantially, is the referral bonus going to increase as well? I mean, if one got $10 for referring a $5.95 a month subscriber, will one get $20 or $25 for a $12.95 a month subscriber?

So, tell, me again why we're being charged more....
just kidding!
Tiered service... gee, looking all grown up and spiffy there! Now all us "Charter members" so to speak are sitting pretty if we don't cancel our subscription.

1. We have no plans at this time to increase subscription rates for existing subscribers who're at the last price increase in May 2003.
2. We plan to invest in additional marketing that will attract more members which we believe will make the site more valuable for everyone.
3. We hope that all Blogit members will continue to market their blogs both on and off Blogit so as to attract new and loyal readers. The Referral Program is a great way to increase your earnings from readers as well as Referral Fees.
Thank you.

I am so glad that I wasn't the only one who stopped dead in their...
blogging tracks to investigate this. I swear I had visions of drug dealers in my head, you know how they say that they work. They give you a deal on your first few samples and then when they know you are hooked - bam, they hit you with the real cost. I am so hooked on Blogit now you would not believe it. I will probably be getting a restraining order from the poor tech guys who work for my internet provider. The darn service has been down off and on for almost a week now and those poor people have had to put up with my frantic calls to, "Fix it! Fix it now, darn you! I was in the middle of blogging you knuckleheads!"

Please note our response below. Existing subscribers can continue to write an unlimited number of blogs just as before the launch of the new subscription plans -- this aspect will not change even if they upgrade to a new plan such as Blogit Gold or Blogit Silver.
For new subscribers, Blogit Gold offers up to five blogs which will be more than enough for the vast majority of users. If there is a demand from new subscribers for more blogs we will consider additional subscription plans.
Thank you.

Please note the text in bold in the announcement:
In appreciation of existing subscribers, we have no plans at this time to change the pricing for the current plan you are on.
And, also:
Existing subscribers will continue to have unlimited blogs and access to the classic custom templates even if they upgrade to one of the new packages that include photo hosting...
So the short answer to your question will be no, your rate is not going up. Nor is your access going down since existing subscribers can continue to write an unlimited number of blogs even if they choose a new subscription plan with photo hosting and advanced/easy control over layout.
Thank you.

We have no plans at this time to increase prices for subscribers who were already members at the previous rate.
As we note in the announcement, subscribers who have joined Blogit since May of 2003 (one and a half years ago) continue to get access to Blogit for the same low rate today and will continue to receive that rate for the forseeable future. The price increase is for new subscribers only.
Thank you.

That's exactly what we're doing. Your cost to stay at Blogit remains the same -- since current subscribers are exempt from the price increase -- while your potential to earn from new readers has more than doubled since the Blogit Basic price has increased for new subscribers. As we note, 50% of the Blogit Basic fee will continue to go to writers who're read.
Thank you.

What is there not to get?
What about ( NO PLANS AT THIS TIME TO CHANGE THE PRICING FOR THE CURRENT PLAN YOU ARE ON ) do you not get? Blodget staff - please correct me if I'm wrong. Those of ( current blogers) every thing stays the same as is NOW - unless we make a decision to change?

So note that people who ALREADY subscribe will be grandfathered in--at least that is how I understand it.

I'm not too happy about the limitations of blogs that we can have or new subscribers for that matter. You should have a plan for unlimited.

Dear Blogit Staff...
I just want to understand, when I renew my subscription next year, will I have to choose one of the new rates or am still able to maintain the rate that I signed on for?
Yours sincerely

So, from what I can tell . . .
. . . you guys seem to be nearly doubling the cost to stay on Blogit each year. Great. Perfect. You know, not all of us make as much as Ariala here! At least give us half a chance to earn something rather than spend all our money just to be members.
I hate to say it, but once again I am highly disappointed in your changes. But I guess my opinion doesn't matter since the changes always stay no matter how many bloggers voice their objections.
