yes, some of us may be better off than we were four years ago, but the nation is not, nor will it be.  And, yes, you are right about personal responsibility and hard work also, but your personal responsibility for you and yours is admirable while the president's running of the national household has left it looking more like a ready to be repossessed mansion in disrepair

Even those two percent
who benefitted from the president's tax cuts aren't really better off. The budget deficits that have resulted from the president's policies hurt everyone including the wealthy.

I am much better off than four years ago!
My wife and I are middle-class and we are much better off than four years ago. Our salaries have risen. Our retirement and stock portfolios have grown tremendously. We don't sit around and bitch and complain about the President though. We have gone out and made our lives better by hard work and personal responsibility. We should all look to do this. We have a niece who lives with us who has all sorts of problems. When it comes to education she is way behind in her schooling. We did not get mad at the government for this. She had a bad life up until she came to live with us. We took rational steps to get her up to speed by paying for tutoring. The government is not the answer. George Bush is not the answer. John Kerry is not the answer. We are the answer.
