"Sir!?!"

I'm no "Sir"--I'm a Ma'am!

You remind me of my dad and another man who passed on this year.

Pete (who was a member of our church) was always calling out to the girls, "Hello, boys!" and calling out to the boys, "Hello, girls!"

When I was little, Daddy told me some kind of joke, and I indicated by asking questions about the people that I thought that this was something that had really happened.

So, Daddy said, "No, that's just a joke, son!"  which was pretty funny, because I'm a daughter instead of a son.  He was just being silly, because he wanted a little girl and that was what he got!

Anyway, I've been over your way to check you out, and I have the feeling that you might know quite a few of the old songs.

Check out this website when you find the time and want to!

Cheers!

This Is Also The Title Of A Very Old Song...

...which goes something like this (I'm quoting the song from memory):

Everytime it rains, it rains
Pennies from Heaven.
Do you know each cloud contains
Pennies from Heaven?

You see those raindrops falling
All over town?
Be sure to turn your umbrella
Upside down!

(and, then, there's a part about growing flowers or something like that that rhymes with "We must have showers!"  Then the song ends):

So, if you hear the thunder
Don't hide under a tree--
There'll be pennies from Heaven for you and me!

Do you remember any song like that?

I think it probably came out in the 1940s, but I was born in 1952, and it was still popular when I was growing up.

That's all for now!
Hugs!

I hope Jemmie is listening in!
My brother once wrote a song called "Penny's from Heaven".  But it was about a gal.
