Thank You Both

Now all I need to do is find all my writings about my struggle growing up with an alcoholic parent and put them all into a collection that makes sense.

I'll probably need to write more as well since what I already have wouldn't be enough for a book.

Time to start sending out query letters!

Jemmie
Good idea.  the imprints of an alcoholic household, which usually includes an al-anon member are left on all of us survivors.  We pass the diseases on even if we do not drink.  So people need to know more and feel less shame.  DO IT. M

Good or Bad Relationship?
Jemmie, I grew up in that alcoholic environment and have a decent story to tell. But the difference is this, it was chaos when they were alive(my parents) and still chaotic after they died. You came from that background and the alcoholic environment has different twists and turns to it. I have found much peace and happiness as a result of attending AA. I developed a flavor for alcohol at the tender age of seven. I grew up to be a maladjusted adult as a result of my upbringing. Attending AA has given me coping skills I didn't acquire as a child. I don't know what your situation is with that, but if you need assistance from somone in recovery, just ask and I will assist you anyway I can. The life of sobriety is good. In an alcoholic household, everyone is affected by the disease regardless of whether they drink or not. Share your experience, strength, and hope. That is what someone in recovery does. I know the program well since I started attending meetings back in 1997. I am not an authority, but I have suffered many consequences from the disease. It sounds like a wonderful idea!
