The idea doesn't surprise me. Car manufacturers have done it (see the movie
Tucker. In the late '1950s, apparently three corporations (Standard Oil, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, and General Motors) got together and convinced many large American cities to put in diesel or gasoline buses and take out the cleaner, more energy-efficient trolleys. Look at the mess we are in now!
