I suppose so, Sass, but to this day, I still can't consider it
"a gift". But, I realize it has helped many people I've used it for, so I'll remain content with that!

Just go with what you know
and you won't let anyone down. I think that its great having a gift like that. I wish that I had some of it. You are using it for the right reasons which makes it even more special yet.

Evangeline, interesting story! Almost the same scenario happened
to me but it was my mom who gave me the "talk" at about age 5. I was adopted, so I don't know if it runs in my family, but from all I've learned, it is hereditary. Mom said I was calling myself a witch since I could talk, along with seeing and talking to ghosts. Mom says I was a handful. She said she had to get used to the fact that I was "different." I hope she meant that in a good way!!!

My magic was passed to me by my grandmother.
She knew I was going to be a "seer" when I was three and I saw my first ghost. The ghost walked right out of my closet--I remember it clearly.  My parents, grandma, and my aunt and uncle were in the kitchen having breakfast.  I came in and told them there was a man in my room.  Everybody laughed and told me I was dreaming, except Grandma.  She was watching me intently.  Later, she explained that ghosts were simply people whose souls did not want to leave life and so they linger. But she also told me not to be afraid. And so my tutorial began.  The thing is, witchiness is hereditary.  It's a talent. It skipped my mom completely, but I got it.  I am not sure if my niece has it.  She is 9 and into Goth, so that's a good sign.  We shall see.

No doubt, Cella!
It is hard to say He/She or anything else when it comes to that. God is all and everything!

Thanks Spitfire!

Yeah, I see the Divine as genderless; I choose to say She because He just has so much baggage attached.

Pity the English language is so inadequate in that way.

Blessings!

Oh, and just a "P.S." Cella,
Some of my posts have referred to God as "She" only, too. I guess it's just difficult to address God as He or She, since God is neither and both in a sense!

Cella (Bella) Here's the answer to that...
I call God He or She...(I believe God is neither) God is God, the Goddess, & the Great Spirit, however, I refer to as "He" only for writing purposes being that I don't need to explain to whom I speak of. So many, or too many, know of God in writing as "He" though I wish there were a better or proper way to address God. I believe (as I think you do also) that God is "humanized' by many physical beings who live earth lives. I hold God as the female/male aspect, yet not even that in so many terms. God is NOT human, as you know. So, that is why in writing to the general "public" even to Blogitville, I write "Him". It just seems easier that way.

Spitfire, a sincere question,

I don't have the time right now to read far down enough in your blog, if indeed the answer is there, but who is the god you call He? Just curious -- most witches I know call god She. It's an individual choice, of course, but nonetheless, I know very few witches who call god He.

Thanks,

Bella

Fire,
You won't let God down...nor yourself. But I think you know that.
